A Tour of a Greek Monastery

One rainy day with umbrellas in hand
we took a tour of a
GREEK MONASTERY

We had to dodge the puddles

Upon entering the first chapel we noticed
gold necklaces, bracelets and rings
hanging on a wire in front of
a magnificent icon

We were told
a part of the person's soul
is left with the jewelry

Everywhere you looked
beauty caught your eye

There were many charved thrones

The skies are not co-operating

"Women" are required to cover their bodies!
We even had to have our arms covered
We were given long skirts to put over our slacks
We also had to cover our heads with scarves

I must add...........................
We offered to take our daughter to the Monastery
Once we told her how women must dress
that was the end of the story for her

Little rain drops on the flowers

Natural light

Each chapel took your breath away

The grounds were graced with several fountains

Taking a moment

Palm trees out in the desert
Oh, what do I see?
Blue skies!

This is my favourite photo

If you happen to come to the Monastery
with open toed shoes
you are given a pair of socks
and
You wonder why my daughter
refused to go!!!

What do you think about this chapel?
You will not guess what it is
THE CONFESSIONAL
Once inside the door you walk up
many, many steps to the top where
you enter the booth!!!

An eye-filling reflection

A masterpiece

A resident cat
We were asked not to take photos
of the resident 'humans'

The girls were getting giddy

Friends

The sun is going down
The end of a first-class day

LIFE IS GOOD
