ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

Last summer Joe and his friend rented a truck
and off they went to Port Dalhousie to pick
up windows and sliding glass doors which
had been taken out of our niece's home

The cargo went from the truck to a barge
which came down the river to our cottage

Luckily our son was here with his friends so Joe
had lots of man power and muscle to get the 'load'
on to the island

Before the summer was over Joe was able
to install three windows

A few days ago came the biggest challenge of all

taking out the old windows which were across the
front of the cottage
and
putting in the sliding glass doors

BIG, BIG JOB

The boys are about to begin

Ray has a crowbar in hand

Another friend has arrived

The window is completely out!!!!

Oh My Gosh

The frame is in!!!!!!!!!!!!

Four fellows pushed and pulled the unit
from the side of the cottage to the front
After many discussions and manouvers
it was in

\

The upper glass is being replaced
by wooden slats

One hammered
one measured and sawed

The 'boys' worked as a team
and did a great job!!!!!

Unfortunatley 2 of the windows
'fogged' or 'frosted' over the winter
and have water vapour between the glass

We have been told how to remedy the situation

Now the doors and screens have to be installed

Notice the antlers?

When we bought the cottage 30 years ago
the antlers were part of the parcel
They hung above the front windows

I see Joe has found a new place for them

Oh brother!!!!!!

Many, many
THANKS
to our friends
Couldn't have done it without you

We owe you big time

This morning

This afternoon

I can sit in my Mom's chair
and
have the perfect view of the river

THANKS AGAIN
