LIFE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Remember Joe building a bed for Jennifer in her utility room?
Joe sitting at the desk figuring out something!

The finished project
Stella Angus and Alice fit right in!

While in Vancouver we went to the market
Could you ever get your head around to thinking you might eat this????
Not this girl!

So many colourful and beautiful flowers at the market

Walking up to the Fairmont hotel at Whistler
where Jennifer is employed as the head gardener

The main entrance is quite impressive
We had lunch at the hotel
Very nice

Jennifer decided to move her bed from one wall to another
She and I tugged and tugged at the king size mattress
The cats didn't help
Both of them were right in there like dirty shirts!

BC ferries coming and going
We're heading down the sea to sky highway
on our way to Penticton

We have arrived

We took Gwennie to the Vet for a check-up
The Dr. had a hard time finding a vein to take a blood sample
 to compare valley fever numbers
He had to switch legs and had to get a different size needle
Gwendolyn was not impressed
In Phoenix it took 3 days for blood results
In Canada it will take 2 weeks
Must mention though Canada knows nothing about valley fever

Meet Dr. George Proudfoot
He was listening to Gwendolyn's heart
He said all was well
however
he did mention she did not have enough oxygen in her blood

The ever changing sky

Mom picking up Garen from daycare
Check out those bunny ears!!!!!

After we picked up Garen we headed to Kelowna for the afternoon
Here is Garen with his cousin
How times have changed
Look at them!!

Love this shot
Nana and Granny took the dogs for a walk
Lyndsay and her sister-in-law went shopping
Lyndsay's brother watched the little children
All was good

Look at these beaver dams
Ha.......they have been busy little beavers

Hanging

We met this little puppy
Her name is Brin
a cross between a Boston terrier and Pug

Oh boy......lots of colour here

Back at the house
One in two out

Don't you wonder what they are thinking or saying????

Evening in Kelowna

Here comes the moon

On to the hockey rink on Friday

The boys had one game in the morning and one in the afternoon

Over the lunch hour the hockey team and their families came out to the house for pizza
Lots of kids!!!!!!

Surrounded by black
The boys won their morning game
5 - 3
They lost the afternoon game
5 - 3

Here is a great horned owl
She is the Momma

And two of the babies

One of the babies was spreading his wings

This is where they live
Up....way up in a tree on Westminister Ave. W.

You can see 3 babies here

Looks like Momma is catching a few zzzzzzzs

Each time we drive by there are many people  under the tree taking pictures of the owls
We talked to one lady who said once they leave the nest they stay in the tree for a week before flying
Since Saturday all three babies are sitting on different limbs of the tree
Flying time is coming up!

Saturday
A beautiful sunny crisp morning at the vineyard
Jennifer came down for Easter weekend
We all went out for breakfast at the Bench

Came  back home to find Gwendolyn sleeping on Garen's bed

Happy to report Gwendolyn has had four really good days
She has been eating breakfast and dinner
YIPEE

A bunny came to the park
You can see bunny dropping little orange balls which were traded in for chocolate eggs

EASTER SUNDAY IN KELOWNA

Quincy the great dane is one of Nana's granddogs
He is making sure his pillow is comfortable, ha-ha

Time to lick the whipping cream beaters

Gail's dog
Ol' blue eyes

Nana's grandchildren

Nana and I share these cute boys!!!!!!

Sweet little cousins feeding Nana's birds

We celebrated Easter
and
are most thankful and grateful
for family

LIFE IS GOOD

  2. Incredible photos, especially the owl momma and 3 wee ones and the ones I love are of Gwennie of course ! Valley fever is not common up in Canada so I'm not surprised at the lack of knowledge. Four good days of Gwennie eating twice a day is fantastic news !! For all she's been through she looks lovely :) Dogs really are creatures of comforts eh ? From seeking out places in beds (OK cats too )to fluffing pillows even ! lol I love the pictures of the grandchildren on the chair/swing and of the two chatting together on the settee. You have a great eye Dianne and thank you for the pictures and updates on Gwennie. Love & hugs for her from me. xoxoxoxo

  6. I was so glad to see a new post. I had wondered how Jen's new bed had turned out. Good job Joe. Good to hear Gweenie is doing better! Aren't holidays fun when little children are around? A wonderful weekend with family from the looks of your photos. It is very quiet on the south end of the resort. Leaving on Saturday. Hugs.

  7. What beautiful pictures. Loved the owls...you are so priviledged to have seen one owl let alone the momma and two little ones. I envy you. Great shots of the grands and their cousins. So glad Gweenie is doing better. That moon looked so beautiful. We kept missing sunset when we were in Fort Myers. Many blessings to you both.
