FOUR PROVINCES AND SIX STATES

Over the Bluewater Bridge
Ontario
to
Michigan
Indiana
Illinois
Wisconsin
Minnasota
North Dakota
Saskatchewan
Alberta
British Columbia

Four days of travelling

WE ARE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday September 1

Following behind the truck is
STELLA
Ken and Devonna are driving my car out to BC
For the next 3 days we will see them in our mirror

They came up beside us for a quick wave
Devonna applying her lipstick
Her signature mark...........
Devonna and lipstick go hand in hand!!

Going across a river
A boat hanging in the air?

What's this?
ZO BO
Nope another super great Beetle
Ken and Devonna commented on not having to rely on their GPS
They just followed the big blue truck!

Dark skies

Ha............
This looks like fun
Check it out Graham

I first spotted this little red school house in a photo at a MacDonald's
Stopped for a _____break and coffee
(Joe and I really like their coffee)
I was delighted to see the house as we were making our way back to the highway

Lots of little lakes along the way
I am thinking I may have heard our friend Coleen refer to them as ponds??????

The beauty of nature

Lunch break
Devonna headed right to the horse trailer
She was raised with horses

Meet Dakota Ringo and Flicka

A Grandma hoisting her grandson up to give
Flicka a treat

There's Stella
She's a 2001 VW with Ontario license plates
ZO BO
We didn't know how she would fare on the trip out
We didn't know how Ken would like driving her as he has a Vet
Well let me tell you...........
They 'both' love driving her
I bet someday Devonna has a bug!
Way to go Stella!!!!!!

Funny story about the license plate
When our children were applying for the plate they wanted to get
BO ZO
However
all the different ways of spelling it were taken
so
they had to settle with
ZO BO
Joe was happy!!
HA HA

Lots of old houses and barns

Lots of cows

Lots of grain elevators

Canadian Pacific Railway running through the states
Just like us...........
Canadians running through the states!

And can't forget
Old Churches

We're heading to Saskatchewan

Crazy skies

Open roads

Weyburn Saskatchewan

'Items' for sale

Took this photo for Blake and Cindy

I didn't see as many horses as we usually do on our trip west
However
We did take a different route this time

Stella has passed us and now on to a new adventure
They are heading to Drumheller to the Dinosaur Museum and we are heading Calgary way for the night
We will meet up Monday when they arrive at the O'Rourke farm

The old and the new

Wheat wheat everywhere

If walls could talk

We are into the mountains of Alberta

'The Siding'
Field BC
Each time we pass through we make sure we stop for lunch
Seems like we have been coming here for years

Gwendolyn out for a stroll

Neat entrance way to a pottery shop at Field

Delay along the Trans Canada as we wait for blasting near Revelstoke
Avalanche territory

Oh My Gosh
We along with many many many vehicles followed two campers through the mountains
They have to learn to pull over and let mounds of traffic pass

This fellow and his dog were on their way to Brooks
They were hungry
I helped out a bit

The gas station at Revelstoke was packed with
cars trucks campers
First station after driving through the mountains

This photo is for Jim
Huge house boats in the lake just past Sicamous

We had about a half hour wait while the highway was closed
Unfortunately this truck did not make the curve
There was a 'big' drop to the ground below

Stopped at this familiar place to purchase a peach pie
(Too bad the pie was stale)
Just outside Armstrong near Vernon

First thing in the morning
First thing after school

Oscar

The new hockey gloves

Granny................
Am I getting a look????

Hockey gear in the back of the truck

When I was at the arena the other night I saw a girl with something in her jacket
I thought it would be a little puppy or kitty
NOPE
It was a lizzard
The name
SCALES

The boys sure do love their new kitty
and
Oscar loves them

These boots caught my eye
The gentleman is from Calgary
He has
FIFTY FOUR
pairs of boots!!!!!!!!
The boots are made from Ostrich legs
all the way from Texas

Breathtaking view

Ethan coming up to the blueline
A little 'foggy' in the rink

That's it for now
A week in photos!!

  3. Dianne, many of those pics are true art. The old barns and homesteads especially. What a great eye you have. How long did the trip take you? ...funny, John and I are always on the search for the perfect pie.

  4. Another successful trip across the continent! Fun to have traveling partners I am sure. Did they see what you saw? Did they notice what caught your eye? YUCK to the ostrich boots. YEAH to all the abandoned farms and golden wheat fields. Yes to the ponds. And now another chapter begins. Have fun with this family before heading south to the next family. Hugs!

  7. Just now looked at my email. looks like you had a beautiful drive. I would have found it so long but you two are so used to it. Glad you all arrived safely and I'm sure Graham and family were happy to see you. Our loss is their gain. Enjoy your time in BC and we'll be in touch by phone. Jim enjoyed the houseboat photo.

  8. Sorry I am just responding. We only took our ipad with us and there was no wifi available at the cottage so really forgot about emailing. Your trip looked like a lot of fun. Nice Devonna and Ken made out fine. Charles envied you with all those old barn pictures. He loves old barns. So glad all went well.
