END OF SUMMER BEGINNING OF FALL...........

Tonight Miss Gypsy is sitting at a campground in  Swift Current Saskatchewan
Over the past few weeks she has travelled the roads of
ONTARIO
QUEBEC
VERMONT
MICHIGAN
WISCONSIN
MINNESOTA
NORTH DAKOTA
SASKATCHEWAN

Tomorrow we head to
ALBERTA

Ethan
Grandchild # 3

is playing hockey just outside Calgary Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Bing taking in the warmth of the August sun at the cottage

Fun day on the island
Islanders got together for a island wide buffet
We all rode our bikes from 'site' to 'site'
Friends
Don and Nancy
Ken and Devonna
Ray and Diana
joined us on our 51st wedding anniversary
A little bit of rain did not stop all the laughs we had!!

Ah....the bench I love

Now the work begins
Moving furniture from the island to our  little white house in Chatham

I am going to see if I can keep my plants over the winter
Will let you know next spring how they fare

From the cottage to the boat to the truck to the little white house
Next spring you are all invited to a painting party!!!!!

As you can see we have caught up with our Zoe girl
We are at the 'tuck' shop at St. Michael's College
Colechester Vermont

Outside the school library where Zoe spends her evenings

Friday we got to watch Zoe and her teammates at lacrosse practice

 Saturday was the alumni game

What a great bunch of ladies
It was such a warm fuzzy feeling to watch Zoe interact with school/teammates
She has settled right in to college life

Sunday afternoon we visited with our niece Rachel and family
They live about an hours drive from Zoe's school
Bear welcoming us or is he guarding the house??

Zoe meeting her cousins for the first time

Bear was not a happy dog
He did not get to go for a walk with Gwendolyn and Bandit

And this is Bandit
There's nothing like a belly rub!!!!!

You have all heard us speak of Joe's sister Alice from Connecticut
This is her daughter Rachel

Home away from home

We are going around Montreal on our way to Wisconsin

I was lucky to see this ol' homestead
Instead of being a photographer this trip
I am a knitter
My eyes are not on the road but concentrating on the knitting needles

Camp Petawawa
Joe and I visited with the Brister family here some 50 years ago
Sweet Memories

The O'Rourke travelling pets

As we were driving along Joe said
'We'll stop by the roadside look over the lake and have lunch'
WE DID JUST THAT

Shortly after this photo was taken I missed a wonderful photo opportunity
A family were harvesting corn by horse and wagon
We should have turned around
It would have been an awesome shot!!

We were on a detour in the city of Sault Saint Marie
I find when this happens we always see something interesting
Someone sure loves the colour of mustard
Would like to see the finished product

A stop for a walk on the beaches of Lake Superior
The lake always seems cold to me even if it is early fall

Campground at Marquette MI
The gal had just had a ride in the wheelbarrow

Next on the list
University of Wisconsin Superior
We arrived late Thursday
Had a tour of Beau's dorm
Pizza in Duluth Minnesota
and a chance to watch Beau and his hockey teammates have a scrimmage

Saturday afternoon we took a tour of the S. S. Meteor
Very interesting
This was a first for us to see this type of an oil tanker

Later 'the boy' got a haircut
What more could one ask for
a trimmed beard and a haircut!!!!!!!!!

Sunday afternoon we went over to Duluth to Spirit Mountain
Had a fast ride on a luge
Beau was ahead of us
Did not see him once he was on his way
ZOOM ZOOM
NO BREAKS FOR HIM
Joe and I went together
WE WENT FAST TOO!!!!
We could not stop laughing as these crazy noises were coming out of us!!!!!
Took in a movie afterward
Went from laughter to sadness
Watched
EVEREST
Oh my, such a sad movie
Must say though the scenery was magnificent
Ended the day with dinner
Then it was time to say good-bye

Leaving Monday morning I got a better view of the tanker

We have no idea what this machine does
Passed three of them which were close together

I have a fascination with old old homesteads
Imagine what their life was like
If walls could talk I would be right there

This morning while driving in North Dakota we pulled into this town as we were looking for a post office
The side window of the home caught my eye
Curtains still hanging from the window
It must have been a wonderful home at one time
Stained glass at the top of the front window
The home had a beautiful view of the lake

What is the saying???
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence!

We are now into the province of Saskatchewan

Bringing home the cattle

To be continued..........

  6. We are home again so have reliable WiFi to check your blog and to respond. But I have so many questions and comments, I think it will be an email. Loved seeing Zoe & Beau. Glad to hear they have settled into college life. I would be photographing the same things if I were traveling those roads. Safe travels & Hugs.
