This is the third story about our friendship with the couples
from Windsor and Chatham
We split into two groups
The Sarnia/Chatham van
and
the Windsor car
Our friend Mike had a lead on a little brown cottage
The Windsor car was taking a side trip
to Quebec the first night
The Sarnia/Chatham van
was heading straight to
PEI
to Quebec the first night
The Sarnia/Chatham van
was heading straight to
PEI
so we had the 'privilage'
of tracking down the cottage
sight unseen
Here we are enjoying the morning sun
We look pretty comfortable
HOWEVER
Without a lie
This is the story!
Did we find the little brown cottage?
We sure did
It was situated in the middle of a field
The field was a very popular place
especially
WITH THE LOCAL COWS
You're right
COWS
and
LOTS OF FLIES
We didn't need an alarm clock to wake us in the morning
We had cows moowing right outside our windows and door!
I really must set the stage
We entered the cottage
Checked out the bedrooms
You know how it goes
The first person or couple through
the door wants to get
the best room!
To the best of my recollection
we both had a boxspring
but
no mattress
There was no choosing the best room!!!!!
The cottage was sparcely furnished
Not quiet what we expected
We must have had running water
as I see Janette
washed her hair
She has a towel wrapped around her head
WE MADE AN EXECUTIVE DECISION
We would not spend another night there
On to Montague we went in search
of a cottage that would
'house' seven adults
We found the perfect place
Here are Mike, Jack, Joe and Janette eating breakfast the next morning
It didn't take us long
to find the ocean
Anita (Mugan) Dianne
and Donna Mae
enjoying the surf
Jack holding all the books
I think they found a used book store
Mike and Mugan strolling
down the
local main street
The friends....cute little grins!!!
Another day we toured
Anne of Green Gables
I wasn't sure if Ann had an e
then I remembered
how the story went!
'Anne with an E'
Ice cream cones
and
Drinks
WHAT FUNNY PICTURES
FUNNY HA-HA THAT IS!
There's that Mr. Finn
cuddling up to Mugan again!!!!!
We visited a lobster supplier
Joe had ordered lobster from this supplier
and had it shipped back home for a
Rotary function
The girls made a trip to the local laundramat
Even while traveling we still had to
do laundry
We searched out the
singing sands
The sand really did sing
but you had to dance in order
for the sand to sing!!!!!
A motley crew
Time for a down east lunch
One lovely evening we took a little cruise
to check out the seals
The men were having some kind of a conversation
Don't know what it was all about???
Our last evening in PEI
We paid big bucks for dinner
It was a tasting menu at the
Inn on the Bay of
Good Fortune
We even got to go into the kitchen
What a great holiday
We all had the best time
We have wonderous memories
of time spent in PEI
Morning coffee on a deck
Where, I do not remember?
Ah...Prince Edward Island...such a beautiful wee island. These pictures brought back memories for me as well of our visit there. We also toured the downtown in Charlottetown and took in the play of Anne of Green Gables. Such red, red earth and the Atlantic ocean. Memories, friends and good times to treasure always. The brown cottage sounds like a cattle man's dream....( nightmare ) that was funny !!!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember ever seeing those pictures, what a wonderful group of friends...including the rest of the clan that did not go on that trip. You don't want time to keep going...
