A DOG AND A CAT, TWO CATS, TWO HORSES

Each morning when I get up I check out this tree
way down by the cliff to see how the leaves are changing
They are well on their way

It was a crisp sunny morning

Gwendolyn had gone back to bed
Bing joined her

Gwendolyn was up and about so
Bing joined Susie

Today we were in for a treat
The 'horse man' was going to Ron and Verna's
to clean and file the hooves of
Prince and Happy
Norwegian Fjords
The camera lady was in her glory!!!!!

Ron and his horse Prince

Verna with her horse Happy

Mark the ferrier
He looks after about 100 horses in the area

Nice choppers there Happy

Front feet back feet

I see you Happy but you can't see me
BUT
You can smell me!

A few weeks ago I sent my brother a card which had a photo on the front of the card
The photographer's image was reflected in the horse's eye

I tried over and over to capture my image
However
THE EYELASHES KEPT GETTING IN THE WAY
HA-HA

Verna brought the lawnmower out of the barn for us to check out
It was built by the Amish in Pennsylvania
One of the horses will be hooked up
Ron or Verna will sit up on the seat
Voila
They will cut the grass between the rows of vines in the vineyard

They are all set for rides in the countryside

Nice view through the barn

While Prince was having his 'pedicure" I went to check on Happy
He was good!!!!!!!!

Together again

It's time for a back scratch
Feels sooo good

Is this guy playing
or
is he hungry?????

I have a lovely story to tell you
Verna and I had met before
You see..............
We both shared the same social worker from the CAS
We had adopted Curtis
They were about to adopt a native child as well
Elizabeth, the social worker thought it would be nice if we shared our story about Curtis
Thirty some years passed until our paths crossed once again
Our son Graham and their daughter Kathryn became friends in British Columbia
One thing lead to another and the
light bulb went off in Verna's mind
O'Rourke O'Rourke
I know that name
Sure enough we were the family that they met with so many years ago
Needless to say...............
Verna and I are
Kindred spirits
Old souls
Each time we meet
We hug
We tear up
and
We grin from ear to ear when we see each other
A moment in time

Good friends

I love these photos
Beautiful British Columbia
Views from Ron and Verna's

Down their laneway we go

Past the O'Rourke house we go

We're now on our way to town
to grocery shop
Graham and his two friends are going fishing
and hunting for a few days
They call it
THE CAST AND BLAST
He has a special request of his Dad
Could you make a
Stromboli for us!

Dad being the Dad he is
made it yesterday for the boys or should I say
'the men'

Jennifer arrives tomorrow from Squamish
She will help us hold down the fort while Lyndsay continues to work hard and long hours at
Ruby Blues
Grapes are still coming in by the ton to the winery

BUSY BUSY TIME FOR THE VINTNER

  2. Alright !!!! This is my favourite blog hands down !! It has everything I love...Gwennie being her adorable, cuddly self in bed :o) She makes me consider going back to bed !! lol Then we have the horses ( yes I loved the cats too ) and the farrier. The close up of the eyes/faces are amazing !! The following pictures can easily qualify for postcard or magazine pictures. In fact they should be submitted in the area for tourism. I love the shot of the cart on the grass by itself. You have a wonderful eye my friend and thank you for the picture of precious Gwennie :o)

  3. I agree with Georgie Girl, one of your best posts. I love the human interest story about you and Verna. Kindred spirits, indeed. Keep picking those grapes. We met and hiked this week, but we need Joe!
