A week ago Friday Joe dropped me off at Sky Harbour Terminal 4
He and Gwendolyn parked the truck at the Cell Phone parking lot
Joe had borrowed Ken's cell phone so we could communicate when the plane arrived
I found my way up to the gate and checked out the flight display screen
Detroit to Phoenix
Delay of one hour
I called Joe to let him know he would be sitting for awhile in the truck
He had his Kindle so he was set
and
Gwendolyn would sleep so she was set
Dianne had her Kindle so she was set
I grabbed a coffee and opened my book to read the Aviator's Wife
BATTERY DEAD
No problem
I would 'people watch'
and
That I did
The plane arrived
Two of the first passengers to come through the gate were a couple from Sarnia!!!!!
Chris just happened to be Beau and Zoe's babysitter
Her husband Bruce and I worked for the same school board
SMALL WORLD
Soon Donna Mae and Sue were in sight
Big smiles and hugs greeted me!!
HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR WEEK
Tuesday evening we had dinner with Stephanie Rod and Zoe
You can see a photo of Donna Mae and Zoe way back when she and Mike visited Arizona
Two years ago the girls were here and celebrated Beau's 17th birthday
While Zoe was at lacrosse practice dinner was
prepared by this group!!!!!!
Note the bandage on Joe's cheek
(More on that later)
Tortilla Flats for lunch
A most popular spot for visitors
The walls are plastered with dollar bills that people have written their names on
It is a spectacular drive to and from Tortilla Flats
Sun going down ............
Every day has been a fun loving day!
A game of cards
Bing attached herself to Sue
On her lap
Over her shoulder
Settled on her arm
Thursday evening
Organ Stop Pizza
The patrons were entertained by this gentleman who played the organ
My Mom and Dad would have loved this
THURSDAY DURING THE DAY
First stop
My Sister's Closet
Just for Sue..........
I believe Sue picked out 34 items to try on
Stephanie and Donna found some chairs to 'rest'
Then we moved to the change room area
Rejects
There's the store
Sue's favourite place
She did well!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next stop
Hallmark Store
Donna Mae's favourite store
Look at the stack of cards in her hand
Do you see the man sitting behind us?
He is from Nebraska
We've had lunch at Stephanie's favourite place
The Wildflower
We've all got tired feet
so
That means we are shopped out!
Friday morning
Breakfast at Gold Canyon Golf Course
Joe spotted this dove sitting on a lamp post
A new piece of artwork sitting in the lobby
A little group picture of three friends
Our time is coming to an end
We have had the best time
We've shared lots and lots of laughs this week
A good time was had by all!!!!!

On another note.................
Joe..Dianne..Gwendolyn..Susie.. and Bing
are heading home to Ontario
We will be staying at the lake home of our niece Stephanie and husband Michael who live near St. Catherine's until the island opens the beginning of April
We are also hoping to drive to British Columbia in the spring
Sometime over the last 70 years Joe stayed out in the sun too long resulting in a little problem on his right cheek (face)
This has to be dealt with in Canada rather than the US
SO............
We'll be in touch folks
and
You can travel along with us on our way back to Canada
And that was just the highlights of your week with Donna Mae and Sue :). We sure will miss you all when you leave........but, we will see you in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteGod's speed. Dan
