Last Wednesday we drove to Squamish to stay with Jennifer for Easter Weekend
The drive along highway 97 is always beautiful
On our way between Penticton and Kelowna
There is one section in particular where the mountain goats hang out
They are up there somewhere!!!!!
You may see a few specks of white
We were on the Connector just coming into Merritt when everything came to a halt
Some blasting was going on
These fellows were all connected to ropes
We have arrived at Jennifer's home
This is our first meeting with Iris
Life in the condo
Lots of pets between Jen and her Mom and Dad
Gwendolyn just settled right in!
Gwennie checking out Iris
Amazing.......
There were 4 cats and 3 dogs
They all got along!!
Josephine
She may be little but she is mighty
Holy Cow
Talk about high energy
Talk about high maintence
Sorry Jen but.........it is true!!
Sweet Stella
Gentle as a little lamb
Ah.....this is Josie
Josie and I were high school friends at
The Pines in Chatham
We reconnected after more than 50 years
Josie drove from Vancouver up to Squamish and had lunch with Jennifer and I
It seemed like it was just yesterday...........
We picked up where we left off
AMAZING WARM FUZZY FEELING!!
We went up to Whistler for breakfast
at Graham's friend Les' Cafe
Nikki was our server
Afterward we had a tour of Ted and Marla's new home
(Ted and Graham have been 'friends' since the age of 3)
Ted and Graham's big sister
Driving back down to Squamish
Down to the ocean we go
Gwennie running in circles
As you can see the tide is out and it is
MUDDY
Joe's photo
Little dogs
Tongues out!
Imagine this rolling around in the ocean
Apparently 'things' have been washing up on shore
from the Tsunami
Jen thought she would attempt to climb the trunk
It was too slippery
Shannon Falls
Sailors in Ontario will be hoping for warm weather so they can get their boats in the water
Jen told us a man has been working on this boat for ages and ages
Pretty neat boat wouldn't you say!
Here is a photo of The Chief
Jennifer and Joe hiked the mountain on Easter Sunday
The Magnolia trees are blooming
While playing tennis in January I suffered a knee injury so I stayed behind with the 'animals' while Joe and Jennifer did their hike
Ha......I guess I took the photo of the dogs before they left on the hike
I forgot...............
Josephine went on the hike too!!!!!!!!!!
The terrain is quite different from that of Superstition Mountain in Arizona
Way down there is Squamish
There are actually 3 peaks
They are on the 1st peak looking over to the 2nd
Joe commented that is was like being on the 401
Ontario's busiest highway
But instead of cars there were sooo many people and sooo many dogs
Great to see that you were able to spend time recently with friends, family and their four-legged friends. You and Joe are always doing something interesting ... love that about you. I always enjoy your travel and photo journal. Feel like I am there with you. Hugs ....
ReplyDeleteWow you take picture taking to an art form ! Incredible photos, Joe I quite like the one you took looking through the huge driftwood. Gwennie looks absolutely incredible and in fine form. I must make it out that way some day. Your photos depict quite the vista of views. Hugs for Gwennie x0x0x0x0x0x0x0

ReplyDeleteI love the photos with the huge tree trunks on the beach. Nice framing shots! Hiking the mountain is like hiking Wind Cave, Joe! Nice that you got to spend some time with Jen while you are out West. Continued safe travels and adventures! Hugs...
