I don't know where the time goes
It has been three weeks since my last blog
This morning I downloaded photos from my little Nikon Coolpix
I was surprised to see photos from last summer on the island
With the winter that the folks back home have been having this would make them wish for summer
These are memories for my brother Gary
The ol' footbridge that we used to go under on our way to the canals
Our parent's cottage was over to the right
among the trees
Dad would drive the boat under the footbridge and we would 'cruise' the canals
Ha.....our cottage is near by
If you look hard enough you can see this cottage's family dog sitting on a bed
(I asked if I could take his picture)
Hadfield flowers in front of their cottage
Now this is one big tree trunk
Diana, my friend and neighbour looks pretty small up against the tree
When Diana is on the island we go for a walk around the island every day
Well......I've gone from Island life to Arizona life
Rod's sister Carrie, Stephanie and Zoe are heading to See's Candy
YUM YUM
This is a weekly stop for Stephanie and I when we go for lunch on Thursdays to the Wildflower
First
lunch
Second
See's!!!!!!!!!!!
We're funny.............
We have the same lunch each week
We buy the same candy each week
Boring?
NOPE
We know what we like!!!!!!!!!!!
A bowl of Potato Soup
then
2 Beverleys
2 Chelseys
for Stephanie
2 Walnut Square Bars for Di
I bring home a Walnut Square and Peanut Brittle for Joe
I have to say I save the Walnut Bars for later in the week
January 6th
The Birthday Girl
You all know Katy
Zoe's friend since grade 3
I found a photo of them taken some years ago!!!!!!!!!!!
Carrie and her son Thomas out for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in honour of Zoe's birthday
This picture is for Aunt Carrie\

Last week we went horseback riding
There were 6 of us
Ken Devonna
Jackie and Ed from Maine
friends of Ken and Devonna
and
Joe and I
We were told we could not pet the horses nor could we feed them
No one said anything about not being able to kiss them!
OR
Talk to them
A little stuffed animal on the trail
The owner of the ranch had put them at different spots where she had spotted wildlife
It was a beautiful warm morning
I followed Devonna
She was in her glory as she grew up with horses so was very 'at home' riding
The remains of a Saguaro Cactus
The gal in the background is from Alberta
She volunteers at the ranch
She pulled up the rear!
She and I wore a helmet
You know me....
Miss worry wort!
Jackie's horse went right to the water trough
This must be the ranch cat
It would not come to us
It looked like it had a run in with a horse's hoof
The tail had obviously been broken
Whoa.....what a neat trailer
Check out these horns
Last Thursday we had a tour of the new Morman Temple
Although we were in a group we had the honour of walking through with Stephanie and Rod's friend Brett
Ken and Devonna came along as well
Between Ken Devonna and I we kept Brett busy with lots of questions
It truly is a beautiful Temple
Brett said there could be as many as 500,000 people go through the Temple before it is closed to the public
The angel Moroni
An Arizona sunset
Ah....................The O'Rourke boys
Garen and Ethan
Will see them soon
We leave for British Columbia the 18th of February
23 more sleeps Garen
OH MY GOSH
It looks like Gwendolyn has had the biscuit!!
Rough day Gwennie?????
Bing and Susie soaking up the early morning warmth of the sun
Well that's a big yawn
An extra picture of Gwennie for Georgette!
Saturday afternoon in Scottsdale
Zoe's lacrosse team played in a scrimmage
Watch out goalie
Zoe is coming!!!!!!!!!!
I guess there is more to lacrosse than scoring goals
Checking out the hair!
GOOD GAME ZOE
Her friend Zack came out to the game
SWEET
As we were driving home I knew it was going to be a good sunset as there were many clouds in the sky
Looking behind me as the truck drove along Highway 60
I knew we would not get home in time to photograph the full effects of the sunset
Just about gone
what can I say but say what I always say
life is good
Once again, beautifully done Dianne. Wow....I missed a lot on that horse back ride. Glad you got it on film. :) I love the picture of Zoe and Zack.
ReplyDeleteHi, Thanks Dianne of the pictures of the cottage to remind us it will get warm again, since are trip to Arizona it has been so cold here and snow most days.

Wonderful! It is time for spring to come! DB :)
ReplyDeleteZoe looks so grown-up for her b-day photo. A beautiful young lady. Fun to see what you have been doing since our lunch date. Looks like we better schedule another date soon...before the 18th. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture of Gwennie resembles me lately with this harsh winter !! Enough already ! lol The second one is adorable !! I could just squeeze her. The wisteria is luscious and so inviting. At some point I must visit Stag island, as I've not been. Your grand-daughter Zoey is very, very beautiful ! Thank you for the upcoming glimpse of summer, Dianne. Hugs & Love share with our Gwennie x0x0x0x0
