MY LAST ARIZONA BLOG BEFORE HITTING THE HIGHWAY

Donna Mae....Sue....Mugan
shared our winter home for a week
We had a fine time!!!!!!!!!

Four girls
A dog
Two cats
and
Joe
Shared this home
By the time it was time to go to bed Joe was quite happy to depart to a quieter atmosphere
Thanks to Ken and Devonna for their hospitality towards Joe

We had an amazing rainbow the day before the girls arrived

First morning
Freshly brewed coffee hit the spot
Bing and Susie attached themselves to Sue

The girls retreated to the Casita room to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics
We could sort of spread out
More room here than in the living room

Joe hung out with Gwennie Susie and Bing
He pulled the chair right up to the little TV and was very content

We all spent time out on the back deck
A beautiful and peaceful place to be

Sunday morning we were out the door by 8:30
Ken and Devonna picked us up
and
We headed to The Farm for breakfast

Attended St. Mary's Church for 11 o'clock Mass

After Mass we walked up the street to a theatre where we were entertained by four lovely ladies
 RESPECT
A Musical Celebration of Women

A quick photo shoot on the steps of St. Mary's

The girls thought we should have a Mexican meal
Sue posing for the camera!!

On to our last outing which was to the Desert Botanical Garden

Not sure what Joe was pointing out to the group

Interesting
These colourful flowers were tucked in the cactus

An angel floating in the sky
I like to think it is Charlene

A beautiful evening
To end the day on a good note
we stopped at In-N-Out for a burger
and
a milk shake

Never knew what to expect when I got up in the morning
Bing's nose was out of joint as he could not sleep in the bedroom
Only Gwennie was allowed
Bing became most adventuresome
I figured he jumped from the patio door valance and got caught up in the drapery

We've had at least 10 cats during our 49 years together
and
this one
takes the cake!!!!!!!!!

OH
It's time to go
Take note of the firewood
Joe, Ken and two other fellows were getting ready to climb Superstition Mountain Saturday afternoon and stay the night
It was quite the ordeal for them as
NO. 1........it was 85 degrees
No. 2.....their packs weighed 39 lbs.
WELL
They made it up and made it down
When Joe came home he had a hot shower and an afternoon nap
until it was time to go to dinner with Ontario friends
NOW
That was a real treat!!!!!!!
Nice way to end our Arizona season

We have a new sofa bed
While the girls were here the green sofa bed
 'bit the dust'
Someone knew someone who knew someone
who was getting a new sofa bed
That meant this sofa bed was looking for a new home
IT IS PERFECT FOR US

Meet Miss Gypsy
Tuesday morning we are heading to Penticton to spend the week with our son Graham and family
While there we will pick up this Airstream
Miss Gypsy will be our home until we can get to the island
The island normally opens Easter Weekend
This year Easter is late in the month
AND
With all the snow and ice in the lake it may be on into May before we can get to the cottage
The river has to be clear of ice for the ferry to go back and forth from the mainland to the island

AND
This is where we will be staying for the time being
Our Ponderosa Campground
Kettle Point

HA......................
Another adventure for Joe and Dianne

will keep you posted!!!!!!!!!!

*******************************
Only 3 more sleeps until we get to hug our grandchilden
Ethan and Garen

  3. We had such a wonderful time. It's a good thing we're such close friends. The close quarters made me think of so many who must live this way. We are truly blessed. Thanks Joe and Di for another great week in the desert. Have a good and safe journey. Love you guys.
