SEVEN MORE SLEEPS.........CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME

Cats Sleep Anywhere

Cats sleep
Anywhere,
Any table,
Any chair,
Top of piano,
Window-ledge,
In the middle,
On the edge,
Open drawer,
Empty shoe,
Anybody's
Lap will do,
Fitted in a
Cardboard box,
In the cupboard
With your frocks -
Anywhere!
They don't care!
Cats sleep
Anywhere.

I have my favourite books and special things that go with me from Ontario to British Columbia to Arizona
Today I was packing my books and picked up my poetry book that my friend Kathy had given me for my birthday in 1992
It is a very very lovely book
The handwritten book is about

All Creatures Great and Small

I sat down and looked at the poems
The Cat poem caught my eye!

Just thought I would share that with you!!!!!!!

Mardi Gras at Canyons Vistas

Wednesday morning we went on a hike with friends John and Jo

Some years ago Joe and I took Beau and Zoe on the same hike
It brought back great memories of a fun day with the grandkids

We were sitting in the 'bowling alley' when this gal appeared
I am thinking she went up to the Flat Iron
This was a first for me seeing a hiker in a skirt!

John and Jo from Taos New Mexico
Ha....you can see that by his shirt!
John and Joe met way back when in Sarnia

Only my second hike of the season

Evening sky

Zoe was in a high school lacrosse tournament over the weekend

Putting on the breaks

Way to go Zoe

Mama taking a picture of her boo boo

Joe and David coming home after a hike in the desert
Got through the barbwire fence without a scratch!
Joe's sister Alice and husband are visiting from Connecticut

Alice spent hours sitting on the deck with her sketch pad
Beautiful drawings of the desert

Two more sleeps in the house then we'll pull the airstream to  Stephanie and Rod's driveway where we'll stay until Monday, the 2nd of March

  1. It amazes me as we sit in a deep freeze the flowers, vegetation and even lacrosse players in shorts ! This weather up in the North has been brutal. I envy you right now ;) As always hugs & love to our Gwennie and yourselves. x0x0x0x0

  3. So hard to believe you are heading north, soon! Love the flower photos and the cat poem. I am hoping to stop by before you pull-out. I will certainly miss you and our lunch dates.

  4. Love the photos, but, we don't even want to think of you leaving already. No more Sunday breakfasts before church until next year. :( Happy Trails and safe travels.
