Joe, Gwendolyn and I went for a Sunday afternoon drive
We went up to Shoot Lake
Had an ice-cream at the lodge
which is for sale I might add
As you can see
It was a beautiful warm afternoon
I found it intriguing to see a lake at the top of a mountain
We did not see any wildlife while up the mountain
However
Coming home along the Naramata Road
This lady came bounding across the road
Wednesday morning we set out for Whistler
The following morning Joe Jennifer and I took a little road trip to Seattle
We were staying at the Fairmont Hotel
Dogs welcome but not allowed to stay in the room if we were not there
We knew Gwennie could not be out and about all day
So.......
She stayed with the O'Rourke's at the vineyard
We are missing her
I never tire of the drive from Penticton to Whistler
(as long as the weather is good)
We took the back roads from Merritt to Whistler
It is hard to see but there is a tiny church in the photo
Would like to know the history as there is no community close by
When we got to Spencer's Bridge the 'Garmin' took us up to Cashe Creek rather than down and up to Lytton and on to Lillooet
The night before we talked about a landslide near Cache Creek and sure enough when we got to Cache Creek we were turned back as the road was closed
(Ah....how the mind forgets)
On the bright side we would not have seen the combine or the little church
Or
This fellow having to change his bike tire!
At times it is a crazy ride
Would not like to take this road at night
One of my favourite sights
Seton Lake
Just past Lillooet
On the road to Pemberton
Friday in Seattle
We spent hours at the market
Joe had a grand time talking to this gentleman about making things out of wine barrels
Crazy music
Fish flying through the air
The gum wall down the alley
Jennifer and Joe refused to check it out!!!!
Seattle Monorail
Jen rode the monorail the night before when she attended a concert
As she sat there she said she watched people prepare dinner
Imagine living soooo close to the monorail
Close enough that people can actually see what is going on in someone's home?!?!?!
Lunch guest
The Fisher Pavilion in the background
Seattle Centre
These fellows slid down the cement on their shoes towards the fountain
The EMP Museum
The gallery guide says
Explore some of the most significant moments in rock, music, science fiction and popular culture through EMP's impressive exhibitions and interactive installations
It was quite the building
Miss Josephine O'Rourke
Jen's companion
Saturday morning we stopped at a rest stop
There were 6 buses
Over 200 marching band students from a University in Seattle
Long lines to the washrooms!!!!!
They were on their way to Vancouver
to
Play at half time at the Lions game
Did anyone watch the game?
We meant to and forgot
Dang
Once again the 'Garmin' took us on a crazy route
Right through downtown Vancouver
Hastings Street
We are in that little blue bug
Olympic Village Condos
Jen's home is tucked in there
Sunday
We are doing the peak to peak today
Whistler/Blackcomb mountain
Every other gondola takes bikers up the mountain
Hydro electric plant
Hydro used to run the peak to peak
Can you tell these two are related?????
We are now on Blackcomb Mountain
Green Lake way down there
On the way back across to Whistler Mountain we took the glass bottom gondola
It looks like a volcano erupting
Luge run from the Olympics
The Fairmont Hotel
Ha
Do you see that big black creature?
Look how close the bear is!!!!!
The bikers are not concerned
The bear is right over the hill
OH CANADA
Jennifer and her crew of five are responsible for the beautiful flowers you are about to see at the Fairmont Hotel
Had to get this photo in
Has anyone ever seen a car like this
Doors fold up!
Remember Jennifer's talk on the bee hotel?
Joe checked it out
Many rooms are taken
ha ha
Cabbage
We are now up on the roof of the hotel
There is also a herb and vegetable garden as well as flowers
The honey has been harvested
A few years ago Joe built two obelisks for the roof top garden
Grapes are doing well
Birds are doing well!!
They were loving the grapes yesterday
Jennifer told me this is where the crows come to wash their food before eating it!!!!!
Crows are very smart you know.........
Great to see your photos from your trip to Whistler. Especially loved the one of Jenn's fur friend, Ms. Josephine (I think). Love being connected with you this way. Keep on traveling and taking us there!
