A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER

MONDAY
This morning after our stretch and strengthening class I went to the pool
In days gone by I would attend the water aerobics classes on a regular basis
however
this season I can only make the Tuesday class

First of all
let me say
IT IS COLD COLD COLD OUTSIDE
Temperature went down to 34 degrees last night

Meet Eric
He is our Tuesday Thursday instructor
His Mom Julie teaches the Monday Wednesday Friday classes

Eric decided he would not go in the pool this morning

There were only two gals in the pool
One Michigander
One Ontarioite

 Connie and I

My parents had a cottage on the St. Clair River in Corunna, Ontario
My Dad had a two by four in the bathroom where he kept a record of our first dip in the river
It was the goal of my brother Gary and I to be in the water by May 24th weekend
I am sure we did not jump in
Rather I would think we ran in
and ran out as quick as our little legs would take us
All those years of practice made me into the Canadian girl who will go in the pool
 on days like today
There is one difference though........
Rivers are not heated
Pools are!!!!!!

SATURDAY MORNING

We woke up to fog in the desert
This was a first for us

I am fascinated with this bird

SATURDAY EVENING

We went to the Phoenix Coyotes hockey game
Even though we were 'up high' we had great seats
Love that Canadian flag

 CANADA
sweatshirt in between a Coyote sweatshirt and a Coyote jersey

FRIDAY

Joe hiked and I stayed home to putter
I love days like that
I gathered up enough nerve to get a garden rake
to asssit me in pulling out the Christmas bins that are stored underneath the front porch
You see...........
During the summer we collect critters and snakes under the porch
I did not want any surprises
Luckily all was clear!!!!

My cousin Margaret's gift to us one Christmas
This is one of my treasures that I brought with us

Santa on the hook was a handmade Christams gift from our nephew Jamie
Since then I have added more Santas to the collection
You might know Bing would be checking it out

Oh my......
What do we have here?
Handmade Christmas stockings by
Beau and Zoe
Zoe's stocking is made out of paper
Beau's stocking is felt with stitching!!
'School artwork'

I saved this handmade Christmas card by Kathy
and Joe's sister Dorothy

They now grace the table in the Casita room

Our sweet little Christmas tree

A little decoration out on the side porch

The cold air was coming in
Took Gwendolyn for a late afternoon walk

Wow.......I thought this was really pretty!!

The sun is going down

Gwendolyn waiting for her Dad to come home

THURSDAY

I was sitting at the computer desk and
spotted this bird out in the desert
It is a bit bigger than the other bird
Wonder if they are a pair and this is the male???
I think so

Here we have a Gamble quail sitting on
the barbed wire fence
I have not seen this type of bird sitting before
Normally they are scurrying around on the ground
and making all sorts of noises

WEDNESDAY MORNING

Just before we left for hiking Gwendolyn decided to scratch her back by rolling around in the desert dirt
She went outside as a white dog
Came back in as a brown dog

NOT GOOD TIMING GWENNIE

A lovely Wednesday evening

That's our life in pictures over the past five days

  1. Interesting bird, Dianne. I hope you can find a name for it. I love all your Christmas treasures, as they are truly treasures with memories. I have to download my fog photos to see how they turned out. See you Friday!

  2. Awh I love, love the picture of Gwennie in the tub !!!!! She's so adorable no matter what she does ! I'm forever her ally or aliby :o) Your pictures are poignant when it comes to the decor you've collected and saved over time. So precious to keep the grand-children's art work and framing friends homemade cards !! I love the decorated yucca, what a wonderful idea. Thank you for the blog/post !
