St. Patrick's Day
March 17, 2012
We are ready to hit the road
Stayed the night with Stephanie Rod and Zoe
Beau arrived home from BC on Thursday and left Sunday for a 6 day whirlwind of hockey in Kansas
Wonder what the Morman Temple will look like when we return in November?
Some people are coming in to Phoenix
We are going out!!
Heading to Vegas
Many Joshua trees were on each side of the highway for a few miles
When I 'snapped' this photo I was looking at the rock formation
HOWEVER
What do you see?????
Just passed the Hoover Dam
Destination first night
Ely Nevada
We are 30 miles out!
Settled in our room
Everyone looks comfortable even though it is cold and windy outside
We got off to a late start this morning as we wanted to make sure the salt/sand trucks had been out before we headed towards Idaho
Ready...set...go!
We're on our way
It is a beautiful morning
Blue sky out there amongst the clouds
Pea break at the side of the road
Towns are few and far between!
The sky is starting to change
It is hard work trying to find something to eat
We're crossing the Snake River
It just keeps changing
We are coming up to a rain storm
We are now in Oregon
Joe is in charge of the camera
He is refreshed after his nap
Play time
The sun is going down
Next.........
Sixty miles to go
One last stop at the gas station
Night time is upon us
Destination Pendleton Oregon
Once again snow is coming down
Over the summit we go
We made it!!!!
CANADA HERE WE COME
Only seven hours from Squamish
We'll be there for dinner Jennifer!
You left Arizona/Flagstaff area just in the nick of time Dianne & Joe ! 180 miles of interstate closed because of 8 to 10" of snow !! Here up in Canada it's already a balmy 13c at 8:00 am and windows open ! They're calling this the winter that wasn't. Gwennie looks good on the bed with Joe and kitties :) I really love the photo Joe took of the pinto and horses playing in the field. That's a keeper for sure. Safe travels my friends and love & hugs to our Gwennie !!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly went through many sites and weather conditions.
ReplyDeleteYou two certainly are not traveling wimps. I can't imagine leaving sunny Arizona that has been in the 80's to travel in the weather conditions you have traveled in this past couple of days. Pleased to know you have been safe. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos when you are home safe and sound! Always love your blog and photos, and loved the photo of the horses.
ReplyDeleteKEEP ON TRUCKIN! Have a wonderful time with Jen! Hope Gwennie is feeling better...and I saw a woman in the rock formation...what did you see? SB
ReplyDeleteYou teo really are adventurous. The snow would have bothered me with so far to go. Glad you're close to Squamish and your Jennifer. I saw a figure with crossed legs in the rock formation. (Sue)
ReplyDeleteHi Dianne & Joe: We have not been faithful friends for the past month and a half.
ReplyDeleteWe drove to H>H> on Feb. 24 spent a few days and then headed for Ft. Myers. We are enjoying our condo - lovely community - palm trees galore and everything is so lush. Love the gated community as I feel safe running in the a.m. Two great pools. Quite a few couples from Chatham. We have been to two baseball games, golfed and discovering this part of Florida. Our weather has been wonderful. Did you know that it was warmer in Chatham than Phoenix. What is happening to the world? Kinda of scary.
I am surprised that you are heading home. Did I miss your email concerning your trip to see Jennifer. Is this early for you to head North?
Hope you are both well. Look forward to seeing you in Chatham. We are here till April 01.
Pam,Mark & Mikayla were here for a week.
Leah broke her thumb in Chatham and does not know if she will make it to the Provincials for Ringette. She was in alot of pain.
Safe trip and we will be thinking of you.
Love Charles & Peggy
Safe travels.. enjoy your visit with your families!! love the animal photos.. Jackie
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your post today as folks were asking about your travels at the hiking meeting. So good to know you are safe in CA tonight and that you did not have any weather problems.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Jen time! Keep posting.
