TODAY AT WEST 22 STAG ISLAND

It's hot hot hot

Gwendolyn having a cat nap
She has had many 'swims' today
to cool off
I must say I have been in the river many times today as well

This is such a comfy chair
A great place to sit with book in hand
I brought the chair home from Arizona
I brought the planter home from British Columbia

The bunkie is all set up
Any takers for a sleep over?????
I know
the boy
the girl
the young boy
and
the little boy
would jump at the chance

The hot weather has really brought out the best in the flowers

The Ruby Blues wine barrel
makes a great planter
The flowers are spilling over

The colours are so vibrant

A few nails and a salvaged piece of wood will do a good job of patching the breakwall

Bing came out to see what Gwendolyn was up to on the dock

I think there are a couple of noodles sitting on the chair
Earlier this afternoon Joe and I walked up to the tip of the island
put those noodles under our arms and floated down river
to the cottage

The gardens are full of beautiful smelling lavender

All the flowers are leaning toward the sun!

Mackinac is this weekend
We have seen quite a few boats go by the cottage already this week
The race is this Saturday
There are about 200 boats that take part in the race
The boats race from Port Huron Mi to Mackinaw Island

Joe was a busy man today
Last year he found this chair by the path
He brought it to the cottage
painted it yellow
added
flowers
ants
moths
butterflies
and
various other little things!

The "seat" was cracked in half
so
 he glued it
he screwed it
VOILA

Someone was enjoying the evening

Guess who's done in for this evening????

I think they are gearing up
for Thursday's sizzler

  1. That first picture of Gwendolyn with her tongue out is how I'm feeling these days !!!! Ugh....I'm not complaining as I still feel we had a very long winter. These are the summers I remember as a kid and going to cool off at Jackson's Pool in Germain park for a whole dime. Your flowers are gorgeous and vibrant. Again Joe I'm impressed with your creativity with that cute yellow chair ! Good recycling :o) Keep cool folks....Gwennie can teach you how...lol.

  2. Oh my you captured the heat!!!! Gwendolyn is precious!
I am impressed by the chair - will have to talk to you about your talent, Joe!!! Loved it!!!!
Your cottage looks lovely - to say nothing of the flowers.
Great weather - beats the rain. Stay well.

  3. It all looks so peaceful, Dianne! This is the last day of extreme high heat index so it will get better for you, too. I am staying inside and painting walls & woodwork. Glad I don't have to be out in the heat. Keep the animals and yourselves cool!

  4. I think you need to frame blow up & frame that
picture of Gwen. She looks so cute. It has been so hot. Thurs., we all need to relax & drink in plenty of fluids. 100 seems like AZ temps. Your place looks so warm & inviting. Maybe some day I will take you up on the offer of the bunk. See you Mon. Janet
