We have the re-opening of the cafe
after a fire in the apartments above the cafe
closed it down way back in September
Susan and her crew were given a little space
at the back of the building
Just enough room for a few little tables
This has been a long time in coming.....
This was my lunch
A roasted chicken sandwich
It was sooooo good
It was prepared in this little prep area
Love their work t-shirts
There is a sign in the cafe which says
KEEP CALM
AND
CARRY ON
Their shirts say
KEEP CALM
AND
CATER ON
How neat is that!!!!!!!!!!!
(they are into the catering
business as well)
Here is Jessica
Actually she is the one who gave her Aunt Susan
the sign
It was given to her after the fire
and graced the wall in their little temporary 'cafe'
Not Stephen's day to work
however
he was called in as it was so busy
YEAH
and
they haven't even advertised that they are open for business
Susan is making a reservation
for Saturday July 23rd
A special lunch for four girls
This is the 'order' area
So unique
The colour scheme is awesome
Yellow and Purple
WOW
A fireplace in the corner
How great will that be this winter!
Joe and his brother-in-law 'Jeff'
having lunch
and
a good visit
The fellows remember
this area as being
Bates Pool Hall
Must add that both
Joe and Jeff spent a great deal of time in the building!!!!!
A great view of the cafe
SUCH A WARM AND COZY PLACE TO EAT
SUCH A WARM AND COZY PLACE TO SOCIALIZE
IT'S JUST A WARM AND COZY PLACE
The sign was going up today!
THE WILLIAM STREET CAFE
KING STREET EAST
CHATHAM ONTARIO

ReplyDeleteIt is so neat when a place has a history for several generations and when someone with a vision can keep it going. Looks like an awesome place to have lunch and a good chat. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Susan on creating such a lovely atmosphere. I wish her much success and hope to have lunch there before you go out west.
