PUMPKINS ALL IN A ROW

Last night the call went out from Ethan
We're carving pumpkins!!!!
OK........ we'll be there

Five pumpkins in a row

Can you tell I have not carved a pumpkin before??
You should see my pumpkin today...........
She is starting to shrivel and is now graced with wrinkles
She's getting betting looking all the time!!!!

Mommy carved Batman for Garen

Papa carved a Vees emblem  hockey stick
and a puck
This is a first for me to see a hockey stick carved into a pumpkin!

Ah.............roasted pumpkin seeds

While driving through downtown Penticton
Friday morning
we came across this 100 dollar bill painted on the side of a building
We think the 'scene' on the bill is that of the Penticton countryside

We thought we would take a ride in the countryside
on the opposite side of Lake Okanagan

We travelled up this narrow dirt road as far as we could go
There was a sign stating it was native land and we could go no further

I haven't seen a milk pod in many years
They are so pretty

An interesting bush
We have no idea what is is????

A familiar flag
STATE OF ARIZONA
We stopped and talked to the lady who was out in her yard
She is a
SNOWBIRD
and will be leaving for Arizona in November

We thought this house had Arizona
written all over it

Wild horses roam the neighbouring area
Saw evidence of horse poop on lawns!!!!!
Many of the homes have their property fenced in with gates at the laneway

We are directly across the lake from the vineyard

A nice Halloween spider graces a tree

Check out this manicured hedge that
surrounds a home
The home is for sale
It has a fantastic view of the lake

Friday evening we went to Ron and Verna's home for dinner
This is Jack
It looks like he is thinking
Leave me alone
I just want to go to sleep
I don't need a camera in my face
Thank you very much

We went to the local market on Saturday morning
Picked up homemade jam and maple syrup
to put in our Canadian basket
The end of January is Breast Cancer Week at our park in Arizona
and there are many baskets filled with goodies from different states
and provinces
The baskets are auctioned off
Last year our Canadian basket brought in $240.00

Here is a carver of pumpkin faces

Every time we visit the house I have to take a photo of Lyndsay's flowering plant
It's a beauty

The evening sky was magnificent
It's
Hockey night in Osoyoos
First we stop off at the local A and W

When we entered the arena the local grocery store
were handing out goodie bags
that were filled with all sorts of interesting things
The store filled over 300 bags for the fans

At the end of the first period they had these boys
bobbing for apples

Little Red Riding Hood won for best Haloween costume

Sunday morning
Another picking day

The pickers!!!!!

Lots of fruit

When you drink wine think of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe even toast the pickers
and the
Vintner

Will sign off now
nine o'clock tomorrow morning
we're be out in the vineyard one more time

  2. Wow what a diversity of sights and activities !! This is the secret of the fountain of youth !! You two are amazing ! :O)The hockey logo pumpkin is a first for me as well and they look awesome light up. The country side is breath taking and making wine is hard work !! It's easier to sit back relax and imbibe !!

  4. You were having fun on Hallow Night.

Charles was over at Shauna's handing out candy and they had been invited to a friend's for dinner and treating in their neighborhood.

Suppose you are heading out soon.
