Sunday morning we were up
and about early
getting ready for our
day trip
day trip
to Kamloops
Not too sure about the weather
so
the driver has decided to take the low road
which is also the long road
The young boy is playing spring hockey
He is on a Double A team called
The Okanagan All Stars
The team is made up of
boys from
Kelowna
Penticton
and
Vernon
The team is made up of
boys from
Kelowna
Penticton
and
Vernon
I'm going to take a step
backward
and
go back four days
for one photo
The young boy was in Kelowna on Thursday for a practice
Wanted you to see the bridge
Here is the 'new' bridge going from
West Bank to Kelowna
It doesn't look like it but it is a
floating bridge
Recently Joe and I watched
a documentary
on how the bridge was built
Coming into Vernon we are greeted
by this ol' boat
Many of the towns have interesting paintings
on the sides of buildings
I took this photo for my friend
Coleen
who grew up in
Java South Dakota
This is for my friend
Casey
who was born in Holland
A church tucked into the hill side
The Thompson river was just about dry
people were walking on the river bottom
The Canadian Pacific is still
going strong
The Powder Keg
I did not see what it was
all about
We've arrived at the arena
The team is doing the stretching thing
What's this!!!!!!!!!!!
A lady driving the zamboni
Here come the boys
Normally the young boy plays centre
however
on the All Star team
he is playing defense
He did a good job!
Another game
Another arena
Another lady zamboni driver
Wow
I am impressed
The boys lost both games
BUT
They played hard
and
never gave up
against the AAA team
This is what greeted us when we came out of the arena
We took the Connector home
It was the fastest way home
Anyone driving this highway
has to go over the mountain
Can be a 'nail biting' drive
Even though the sky looks un-inviting
we sailed through
arriving home around 8:30 p.m.
A good trip
Thank You for the Java sign! I can't believe you remember that itty bitty tidbit. The resort is clearing out; lots of folks leaving around the weekend. Nice you can see these g-boys playing hockey, too. Thanks for keeping us updated.
ReplyDeleteReally neat photos Dianne !! I like the various paintings showing up on the sides or backs of buildings. They're visually very pleasing and a great avenue to promote anything and art !! Sarnia has some scattered about and it sure beats seeing plain ole bricks !
ReplyDeleteGreat windsmill shot,Mugan is getting very excited, good crowd helping on Friday, all should go well.
ReplyDeleteOnly the beginning for the O'Rourke family!Good pictures but it looks cold...SB
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the background and added pictures for friends and THE GREAT WAY YOU FOLLOW THE BOYS not to say anything about the lady zamboni drivers. WOW! Jeanette
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is having a great time.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to lunch with Stephanie at your favourite place. I will have your favorite lunch. Miss you. Janet
