CONTINUATION OF THE GIRL'S VISIT TO ARIZONA

All I can say is.......
The girls are having a fine time!

Here are two interesting photos

As we were sitting out on the back deck
Saturday afternoon
the 'ultra light' flew past our place
As I was taking the photo a bird flew past
A surprise to me!

We looked in our bird book
to see what kind of a bird this was
We could not find a picture of it
I need my bird lady to tell me
At first I thought it was a female cardinal
but I don't think so with it's red breast

SUNDAY

We put Gwendolyn out  for one last 'pee' before
we left for church

I'm sure she was thinking
AH....THIS FEELS SOOO GOOD

We were thinking
OH NO

We now have a 'beige' dog!

Here is a couple driving along Highway 60
It never ceases to amaze me how some people
 do not wear helmets

Can't figure it out

St.  Mary's Basilica
downtown Phoenix

The organist at St. Mary's Basilica
The music is so 'sweet' to
our ears and soul

The stained glass windows are beautiful
especially the window at the far left
The sun streams in through that particular
window while we are sitting in the pew

Here's our friend Ken
He asked if I would take a picture
with the sign
'Downtown Phoenix'
in the background
He is so funny
(Funny ha-ha that is)

Donna Mae, Sue and their friend!!!!!!
Donna Mae .....friends for 48 years
Sue ....friends for 44 years

Sue looking at the statue of Pope John Paul II
His Holiness was at the Basilica
 September 14, 1992

After church we headed to
The Farm
for breakfast
The farm was once a pecan farm
Unfortunately we didn't make it in time for breakfast
so we entered through this door
where we ordered our lunch

I had a pecan chicken sandwich
It was really really good

We are the luckiest people
Surrounded by such good friends

We ALL picked out a dessert

I'll throw in a little tidbit
Desert and Dessert
This is how I remember the spelling
of each
DeSSert has a double S
That means two desserts!!!!!!
Do you remember it that way?????

We're back home again
on the back deck
Here he comes again!
There is a plane way up to the right of the picture
Didn't know it was there when I clicked
the camera

Such a contrast between
the two

A few minutes to read and relax
 before we head out for
 dinner

The sun is setting

We are now about to drive along Hwy 60
What an amazing sight

We've all come together to celebrate the birthday of....

THE BOY
Sitting between his Dad and his Granny

It was a Happy Valentine's Day
and
Evening

Awh Gwennie !!! I love that picture of her rolling on the warm and dusty surface !! She surely did not look white afterwards...lol. I miss giving her big bear hugs . The bird caught in the first picture with the "flying machine" looks huge, that must be the way it was caught photo wise like an illusion. Also that's a great way to spell desert vs dessert. Seconds or thirds anyone ??

Warm friends, the boy's birthday on Valentine's day. He must have so many fabulous memories of that day.

I'm checking my bird book. I hope I come up with a name for that beauty. Jeanette

  5. my bird book shows very few red birds. my guesses r northern cardinal but they look more red than your bird;a pine grosbeak(winter finch);a house or purple finch or a vermillion flycatcher but they are mostly mexico but did show a bit in arizona.jen
