HOCKEY, HOCKEY, HOCKEY

We go from the arena in the US of A
where the 'boy' plays
to
the arena in Canada
where the # 2 'boy' plays

From the defenceman

To the 'wanna be' goalie
According to his Dad....
It depends on the day

What jersey is this?
The Phoenix Coyotes

Practice, practice, practice

Home of the Penticton Vees

Outstanding new arena

It's all about hockey in Canada

In the centre of the round-about is
this statue representing the victory of a
world championship in 1955

While driving through the city of Penticton
this wall painting caught my eye
Notice
all the players have their shoes on
except for one player
Would like the know
the story behind the story

Pulled up to the house and what did I see?

The # 2 boy and his Granny had a conversation
about hockey jerseys
Out came the Polar Bears jersey
which once upon a time was worn by
the boy

Phoenix Firebirds

The Buffalo Sabres
The favourite team
Why?
 asked the Granny
They have the best goalie
The Granny knew about the goalie as he played
for the US  team at the winter olympics
And
I must say
Ryan Miller did an outstanding job in net
(I even knew his name)

This boy lives for hockey!

This dog likes hockey pucks!

CANADA EH!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an exciting day

This sign certainly caught my eye
It's like
Going back in time

Speaking of going back in time
In 1964 we purchased our first car
OLGA BABY
She was red but had both headlights!
That's when we started travelling the roads
Chatham, Ontario to Edmonton, Alberta

Around the bend we go
CANADA
Here we come

Such a peaceful and quiet setting
on a Sunday morning

The sun is way over there, I know it!

Do you see the Maple leaf?
Do you see the name
CANADA?
I SURE DID!!!!!!!!

The long and lonely road

We are coming up to Chief Joseph's Dam

Don't you wonder how the dam was built?
Where did they start?
It must have been something for the locals
to watch the dam take shape

I bet this was a school bus at some time or another

Picker's Shacks

You can tell we are now in
Okanagan country

See, I told you
The sun is shining
Way over there, probably in Canada

I

Oh wow
Penticton this way
YEAH

OK Smokey
Good to know the fire danger is low

Can't go by without having a photo of a cow!!!!
Actually, these cows are quite pretty

What's the ol' saying
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence

This roof has been patched many times

The driver said.....
You can tell we are close to CANADA
Lights are on

I'm in my relaxation mode!

We're getting ready
Can you tell we are anxious

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the word
"Winners"
My mind went to shopping
To the Canadians it is WINNERS
To the Americans it is TJ-MAX

Next, my eye caught this building
An arena?????
We both commented!

We saw a lot of these little coffee 'houses'
Where's
 TIM HORTON'S?

OH CANADA
OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND

The province of British Columbia
Host of the Winter Olympics
2010
Gold Medals for the Canadian
 Men & Women's
 HOCKEY TEAMS

A great place for a bench

Read the little sign on the bottom left hand corner

I have seen this label before
The fruit trees are starting to blossom

This is Kettle Corn
a favourite of some people I know!!!!!!

I passed it up for.......................

This is real ice cream
not
Frozen Yogurt
A real treat for me!

This is a view of what the camers lady sees from her seat
I have taken 98% of the photos from this spot
as
the van travels at 75mph in the US of A
or
100 km in Canada

Here is Penticton

This fellow is taking full advantage of the wind

What do my eyes see!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a beautiful sight.....our flag

Starting up the final road

Ruby Tuesday's Winery

Oh boy, oh boy
We're almost there
and
The little ones are saying
Oh boy, oh boy
They're almost here!!!!!
