AUGUST 29, 2012

Do you know what this is?

Did you guess an upside down dog?
If so
You are right!!!!!!!!

She is sooo funny!
She makes me laugh out loud

The river was very calm this morning

I went down to Chatham this morning
Took the back road across from Walpole Island
Such beautiful creatures

This car has been sitting on a lot in Wallaceburg for ever and a day
The car reminds me of a car my parents had when I was a girl
When coming home from the cottage
I would curl up
on the floor boards because it was warm
Some people will remember a hump in the middle of the floor board
where the drive shaft sat

Oh boy
What a treat to see a field of sunflowers

A lady slowed her car down to call out the window
AREN'T THEY SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the pond I went
When I pulled up in Stella I saw the
heron right away
Whoa I said

I was too close for comfort

Ah............
'My' little swan family was there

Coming around the corner into Port Lambton
I first of all was surprised at how calm the river was this afternoon
The raft and 'water' slide caught my eye

GRASS WATER AND ICE

Sue and Donna Mae heading home
after a night on the island

Home sweet home

Three frogs live in our pond

Our niece Stephanie and husband Michael along with Angela and Ray spent the weekend with us

Afternoon delight!
As you can see from the group photo I did not have a place at the table
No thanks

Each morning Stephanie went for a run
around the island
Gwennie joined her for the stretching

Off the dock she would go
Gwennie right at her heels

A classic

Navy ship heading down river
Oh Oh
No spotter in the ski boat

Coming into the Corunna Shell dock to
load up on fuel

Cruising down the St. Clair
I checked the flags of the world but
could not find this flag

Here we go again
We're off to Mount Clemens to watch Beau and teammates
at training camp

The camera lady is doing what she likes best

The boys started out with a few stretches

The defensemen all wore white jerseys

The boys did many drills
I have a new respect for hockey players
Man did they work hard

Whew this one is over
I was tired out just watching them

Back we went again yesterday to watch the boys play in a scrimmage
One ferry passing the other

Gathering around the coach

# 16
The boy

It was a fast game

Lots of action around the net

Scrimmage over
Good job boys

Another navy ship goes by

Curt and Christina are here for the weekend
Curt lookin' for some fish

Saturday afternoon

Cooling off
Check out that little head in the water

That girl loves the water

What a beautiful warm day

This morning Stag Island had their
4th annual
10 K run
and
5 K walk
My neighbour and friend Diana
and I walked the 5 K
We improved our time from last year by
9 minutes
YEAH!!!!

IF I WERE ALONE IN THE DESERT

Taken from the 'Quotation Book'
on animals
that Kathy put together for me
...... this is my favourite

If I were alone in a desert
and feeling afraid,
I would want a child to be with me.
For then my fear would disappear
and I would be made strong.
This is what life in itself can do
because it is so noble, so full of pleasure
and so powerful.
But if I could not have a child with me
I would like to have at least a living animal
at my side to comfort me
therefore,
let those who bring about wonderful things
in their big, dark book
take an animal
to help them.
The life within the animal
will give them strength in turn.
For equality
gives strength, in all things
and at all times.
