BC ADVENTURE...........THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH

First of all I must say.....
Hats off to the 'cooks'
Nikki, Jane and Ted are here for the harvest
Mark came down for a few days of picking and was going to give Lyndsay a hand with the press on Friday
It's a full house!
Nikki and Jane share the suite
Matt is in the air stream
Mark pitched a tent in the backyard
We're in the shack
Each night someone or a group are in charge of dinner
This was the gang Thursday night

Friday morning Joe and I left the vineyard to spend Thanksgiving weekend with Jennifer

First stop
Gas station in Merritt
As you can see....a lumber yard across the street

We took the back way to Whistler

Lots of logging trucks on the road

Now this is a fifth wheel all in one!

Here comes the train

Salmon are running

The train would have gone though the tunnels

I was in awe of the scenery
This is just passed Spence's Bridge
Ted's wife Karine paddle boarded down the river

A bit too close for comfort
No middle line here!

We stopped for lunch at Lillooet
Decisions
Wendys??
Subway??
We decided we would like a nice hot bowl of soup
Thus
This is where we ended up!
Mushroom soup on the menu
HA
Campbell's Soup
The cook didn't even mix it with milk
NOPE
Water
All I can say is.....
IT WAS HOT

This takes my breath away!

Coming into Pemberton

Fairmont Hotel
Meeting Jennifer at work

This is her office!!!!!
She and her gardening staff meet here each morning
to discuss the day

Iris

We met Ted and Marla Saturday morning for breakfast at
the Fairmont
Yum Yum

One of Jen's homemade signs
Look at the mushrooms
They used mushroom manure in the gardens this season
Mushrooms coming up everywhere!!!!!!!

Maple leaf forever

Gwendolyn took over the couch
She loves getting in with the pillows
Spoiled?
Spoiled rotten

Sea to Sky Gondola
Squamish
Our Mother and Father's day gift from Jennifer

At the top of the lift
I was running downstairs to the washroom
A Bride was coming up the stairs
First thing out of my mouth
OH MY GOODNESS.........
She gave me a big grin!
Wasn't expecting to see a Bride
Of course when I came back upstairs
I was on a mission to find the Bride
'Happy Day'
I said to her
She just beamed!!!!!!

We are ready for a hike!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think this tree is going to last much longer

NEAT

Along the trail we came across a wee baby tucked in his Dad's jacket
A three day old baby!
I asked if I might take a photo of the baby if I did not show his face
Dad was quite willing to have the baby's face in the photo
Way back when................
babies were born in 1966
This Mother (me) stayed in hospital for seven days
Here is a mountain Mommy hitting the trails three days after giving birth
Times have changed ha ha

Jen telling us all about the different pine trees

The Bride and Groom

Before going down the mountain we treated ourselves to a hot cup of coffee and a muffin/oatmeal cookie
View was spectacular
Interesting how the clouds came and then left

View from Jennifer's condo
Snow on the mountain Sunday morning

Rain rain go away
Come again another day

Alice in front of Jen's pug collection
Steamer in background
The steamer has many stories
It belonged to my cousin Margaret

Viognier 2012
Sunday evening we had dinner at the Rimrock Cafe at Whistler
We chose from the tasting menu
We ordered a bottle of Graham and Lyndsay's wine
Soooooo exciting to be able to do that
I brought the empty bottle home!!!!!!

Coming home from Squamish we stopped at Merritt for a bowl of soup
THE SOUP WAS DELICIOUS
We found out Merritt used to be .......
Country Western Music capital of Canada
Here in the photo is a picture of Loretta Lynn
and
Her hand prints!

Last day for the kids on the vineyard
Nikki Jane and Ted

There she is!!
