ONE DAY AHEAD OF THE STORM

It's a good thing we decided to leave Penticton on Friday
Let me tell you
We were surprised when we spoke with the receptionist at the Best Western Hotel in Fargo ND
She told us a winter storm was coming in even though it was spring!
She suggested we book two nights
We had had such good weather so far
A storm?
What was she talking about?????

Once again we say good-bye to the O'Rourkes

Spring is in the air
Apricot blossoms

Driving on Hwy 97 toward Oliver and Osoyoos
Grandson Beau will be on this road today
He was home in Arizona for a few weeks
Now returning to the Okanagan  for Jr. A hockey camps

I am sure the people who lived here
'once upon a time'
loved being on the lake
What a view!

Apple orchards close to Oliver

We are into Washington State

Meet Chaps

Chaps is three years old
She has traveled over 40,000 miles with her Master

Chaps sits on the back seat
Nothing to hold her in place
Day before this photo was taken they drove through
a snow storm

You can only see heads
There are two dogs in the back of this pick-up
A little safer I would think????

I was at the wheel again!!!!!!!!!
We made it
No problem!!!!!!!!!
Joe did ask about the gas guage
Just a little less than 1/2 full I said
Asked again
Just a little less than 1/4 tank I said
Next thing I knew
Guage was on E
Funny
When Joe is driving I'm always checking the guage
What the heck???????

Snugglers in the back seat

On the enchanted highway

We booked another night at the hotel as we were told the storm would arrive in Fargo by 4 a.m.
Sunday morning
No snow....
Joe checked the weather
As far as we could tell the storm was north and west of us
We packed up and away we went....
We did encounter wind....snow showers....rain
In one particular area we passsed 6 cars in the ditch
We got into a 2 hour traffic jam
so
Did not make it around Chicago as planned
We did hear on the radio where Bismark ND
got 18 '' of snow on Sunday
We drove through Bismark on Saturday!!!!

MYBUG2
My Stella would like that licence plate!
My licence plate reads

We are almost home

Off the ferry and on to the cart

Photo for our children
Look at how low the river is!

When you see the Union Jack flying
You know Mr. and Mrs. Hadfield are on the island
Their son Chris, our Canadian Astronut is the Commander of the International Space Station

Canadian Geese flying past the cottage as we arrived

Graham and Lyndsay will be happy to know the
TIGHTROPE WINE
arrived in one piece!!!!
Each night we 'carted' the boxes into the hotel

With the water being so low Joe will be able to fix the breakwall!!

Looking down river

Gwendolyn rolled and rolled in the leaves
Then gave herself a good shake!
Ah.....it's good to be home
