ISLAND LIFE

We've been on the island for 36 days
It has been warm
It has been cold
It has been rainy
It has been sunny

Our next door neighbour Ray
graciously offered his boat for us to use while waiting for a motor for our boat

One two three
PUSH

Another neighbour Bruce
took off his shoes and socks to help get the boat out into the river
BRRRRRRR

Under the dock and over to Ray's cottage

As you can see we've had lots of rain

Nice to see the swans on the river

Riding the waves

Getting ready to walk over to the main dock
Winter coat under all that rain gear!
Check out the boots!

No leaves on the trees yet

There goes the Roger Blough

We have a Momma to watch

Early morning.....the river is as smooth as glass

Wonder if the motor is working?
Maybe he is just getting his exercise????

Checkin' in

Oh......so sweet

The Red-Winged Blackbirds have arrived
A sure sign of spring

Evening is upon us here on the island

A little activitiy on the river
Some sort of 'tiny' cruise ship!!!!!!!!!!
Ha Ha

I can see a little bit of green on the tree

Here comes Roger again
He has been up and down the river a lot
A real treat for us
(It doesn't take much to entertain us)

The babies are really growing

Lots of snakes around

Out came the hedge clippers
to cut down the Phragmites

Joe rebuilt a Martin House that his Father had built for us many, many years ago

I think Momma is getting used to me coming by every day

Walking the path
Gwendolyn getting some exercise!!

Way down there is a Forsythia bush

There 'she' is.....beautiful as ever

They are just about ready to leave the nest!
Bing has been kept indoors to make sure the babies are safe

I surprised these little guys one morning

The next day the nest was empty

If you look hard enough you will see our 'new' motor on the boat
Remember??????
The motor was stolen a week before we left the island last fall

Mother's Day

New police boat that is patrolling the river
Coast guard and RCMP
Have Americans and Canadians on board so they can go anywhere on the river

Learning all about fishing from Grandpa

Best buds

Lots of action on the island
Lots of Canadians celebrating the long weekend
Lots of dogs too!!!!

Gwendolyn had soooo much fun with Farrah and Max
She was a zombie today!!!!!!!

Today Curt helped his Dad get the Martin House up
Wonder when the birds will start making nests?

Took my camera with me today when I walked the island
Here is a piece of driftwood hanging in some vines

This cottage is tucked back in by the canals

The children are on the island!

Once upon a time........
Children's playhouse

It is amazing where dandelions can end up!

Now I am caught up
Will see what I come up with next for a blog
