PUMPKIN TIME

Two pumpkins arrived at the house

Once my job was finished with gathering the
pumpkin seeds
I picked up the camera to record
the carving of the faces

You can always count of Lyndsay
for a laugh

The little boy is sure taking it
all in

Design by the Mom
Carved by Papa

When I looked at it
I first saw a face
sunglasses
nose
mouth
but then I was told
it was a ghost
Which did you see first????

I bet everyone saw the ghost

On to the next pumpkin

Great job
Love the eyebrows

The next evening the young boy
brought the pumpkins into the house
Granny
Come take a picture
He is a 'ham'
like his Mom

Take a look at this chic
in the red dress

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

SEVEN FRIENDS GO TO PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND 1998

This is the third story about our friendship with the couples
from Windsor and Chatham

We split into two groups
The Sarnia/Chatham van
and
the Windsor car

Our friend Mike had a lead on a little brown cottage
The Windsor car was taking a side trip
to Quebec the first night
The Sarnia/Chatham van
was heading straight to
PEI
so we had the 'privilage'
of tracking down the cottage
sight unseen

Here we are enjoying the morning sun
We look pretty comfortable
HOWEVER
Without a lie
This is the story!
Did we find the little brown cottage?
We sure did
It was situated in the middle of a field
The field was a very popular place
especially
WITH THE LOCAL COWS
You're right
COWS
and
LOTS OF FLIES

We didn't need an alarm clock to wake us in the morning
We had cows moowing right outside our windows and door!

I really must set the stage

We entered the cottage
Checked out the bedrooms
You know how it goes
The first person or couple through
the door wants to get
the best room!

To the best of my recollection
we both had a boxspring
but
no mattress
There was no choosing the best room!!!!!
The cottage was sparcely furnished

Not quiet what we expected

We must have had running water
as I see Janette
washed her hair
She has a towel wrapped around her head

WE MADE AN EXECUTIVE DECISION

We would not spend another night there
On to Montague we went in search
of a cottage that would
'house' seven adults

We found the perfect place
Here are Mike, Jack, Joe and Janette eating breakfast the next morning

It didn't take us long
to find the ocean
Anita (Mugan) Dianne
and Donna Mae
enjoying the surf

Jack holding all the books
I think they found a used book store

Mike and Mugan strolling
down the
local main street

The friends....cute little grins!!!

Another day we toured
Anne of Green Gables
I wasn't sure if Ann had an e
then I remembered
how the story went!
'Anne with an E'

Ice cream cones
and

Drinks

WHAT FUNNY PICTURES
FUNNY HA-HA THAT IS!

There's that Mr. Finn
cuddling up to Mugan again!!!!!

We visited a lobster supplier
Joe had ordered lobster from this supplier
and had it shipped back home for a
Rotary function

The girls made a trip to the local laundramat
Even while traveling we still had to
do laundry

We searched out the
singing sands
The sand really did sing
but you had to dance in order
for the sand to sing!!!!!

A motley crew
Time for a down east lunch

One lovely evening we took a little cruise
to check out the seals

The men were having some kind of a conversation
Don't know what it was all about???

Our last evening in PEI
We paid big bucks for dinner
It was a tasting menu at the
Inn on the Bay of
Good Fortune
We even got to go into the kitchen

What a great holiday
We all had the best time
We have wonderous memories
of time spent in PEI

Morning coffee on a deck
Where, I do not remember?

OUT FOR A DRIVE LAST WEDNESDAY

What a treat
an afternoon drive in the
coutryside

During the morning we picked grapes

Also did some laundry
Bing liked the warmth of the dryer
He did not want to come out
Such an inquisitive cat

We drove up the mountain
I got out of the van to take pictures
of these horses

When I went towards the fence and called to them
they came right over
I was excited!!!!

I thought they were coming
 to see me
but
I'm sure they were looking for a snack!!

We spotted this little trailer
A home away from home?????

There were several homes being built
way, way up the mountain

Okaganan lake is way down there
What a view they will have

Penticton has the 'neatest' dump
yup, a dump
They have very strict rules
about bringing stuff
to the dump
and
how you bring it

Seagulls everywhere
 paradise for them

Where the heck did these cows come from????
I bet they were saying
Where the heck did this van come from????

Nice eyelashes

We're now on a dirt road climbing
higher and higher

Back down we came
Everywhere you look
you see magnificent scenery
Even the clouds were beautiful

A great day

HOCKEY DAY IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

IT'S SATURDAY
IT'S HOCKEY
IT'S GRANNY AND PAPA DRIVING
THE YOUNG BOY TO HIS GAME
IN PRINCETON BC

This should be called pumpkin corner
The two buildings are right across the road
from each other

Sure can't miss it!!!!!

It wouldn't be a BC highway
without coming up
to a logging truck

As you can see we are driving
through a mountain range
We are up and down
curving here and there
The boys are settled in their seats
Harry Potter is playing on the DVD

Being in the passanger seat I am enjoying
the scenery
UNTIL
The little boy all of a sudden
wants his Mommy
He up-chucks
He hurles
whatever you want to call it

It is a good thing Granny is still
agile enough to climb
into the back seat
to take care of the little boy
while Papa is still driving

We find a place to pull over
and a change of clothes is brought out

Away we go again
We're half way there
Up-chuck again

The 'hockey' boy is turning his body to the window
and making strange noises
He groans
He asks
Can I get out of the car????
Nope

YEAH
We made it

I found this to be quite a unique
drawing on the front of the arena

Here comes the zamboni with lights flashing
Note the guns!!!
What is it about zambonies
and little boys????

The game is about to begin
The young boy is taking his turn
at being the goalie

Waiting for action at his end of the rink

Here comes the player
I'm ready

Good save

The red team scores
clap, clap, clap
cheer, cheer, cheer

Good game
Tie 4 - 4

Little bro was back to his
'happy go lucky self!!!

The zamboni did his job again
He is back behind closed doors
Check out the painted cowboy on the door
This was definitley a
'personalized' hockey rink

We're on our way back  home
The young boy opted to drive
with a hockey friend
Wonder why???

I spotted the ospry nest on the way to the rink
missed the shot then

This outdoor rink must be a fun place
for kids during the winter

Not a yellow VW
The tires are almost as big as the bettle
What's the story behind this VW????
Why is it sitting in a field???

IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK HOME AGAIN
The trip was uneventful
thanks to a half of a
children's gravol!!!!!

Another good story for our
memories!!
