AN AFTERNOON ON THE ST. CLAIR

THROUGH THE LENS TODAY

I stopped in to see 'my' family of swans

They must have been in their nest as I could only see one head

I did see the heron

it just stood there

so

I left after a few minutes

Not a lot of action today

When I came around the curve into Port Lambton there was a sea plane right up on shore

That was quite a surprise

Now this is the best!!!!!!!!!

I drove past.........

I turned my car around

and

went right back to take a picture

I then got out of the car

and

said to the man

YOU MADE MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!

The dog is even sitting in the water

right beside his master

Doesn't get any better than that

I tried to read what the sign said on the trailer

I think it is..........

Oregon to Mass

or

Bust

These kids were having a fine time

A case of beer

A bag of wine

Once again I stopped by the pond to see if the family of swans were still there

I was happy and delighted to see

Momma and her babies

I had no idea I would so entertained by

Papa Swan

and

Mr. Canada Goose

I must say

The wonders of nature never cease to amaze me

As I was watching the 'family' I heard a very loud slapping noise

I could not believe what I was seeing

Papa was chasing  the goose

What a commotion

The chase is over

Papa's feathers look ruffled

He has with his family

Momma is feeding

Papa is stretching

A fisherman calls to me to tell me there is a swan

in the water by the boat launch

Over I go...........

I ran over to see the swan

Called to it

It switced course

and

headed right for me

Joe asked me later if I backed up

NOPE

I said!

I didn't stay though!!!!!!!!

Papa has searched out the goose

It starts all over again

Taking the same path as the first chase

He swims away

Dun.. Dun......Dun.. Dun.....Dun

Here he comes

Walking on water!!!

The family are going back to the nest

This was beginning to get ruthless

Swan was relentless

Goose was stubborn

The family is back on the scene

All of a sudden...........

Momma decides to get in on the action

Mr. Goose is on his way out!!!!!!

You could hear

CHURP CHURP CHURP

The babies were upset when Momma left

Here comes Momma

Here comes Papa

Everything is back to normal

Looks like it is dinner

time

Heading home

Good job Papa!!!!!!

Days on the island

Car ferry

A storm is rolling in

Early one morning I could hear

HONK HONK HONK HONK

Lots and lots of it

Coming up the river were Canada geese

Several times during the morning they would return and pass by the cottage

The ol' firepit needed a facelift

Joe thinks he first built it 30 years ago

Many a story has been told around the firepit

Many a marshmallow has been roasted over the firepit

Even someone has walked over the coals!!!!!

I was surprised to see the deer

The deer was surprised to see me

Having a lick on a salt block

Down a path to a cottage tucked in the woods

I go down the path

I sit in one of the orange chairs

The babies are getting tired

Last weekend we  spoke with the owner of the cottage

He told us the owls have been around for about 25 years

They nested in a tree near the cottage

however

the tree came down in a storm

He spoke with

'the powers to be'

Was told to get a bucket and put it 40 feet up in a tree

So............he did

The owls have nested in the tree since then

I have been waiting for the babies to go out on a limb

I have been watching them for a week now

Nothing happening yet
