CATCHING UP

Son Curtis had some fishing worms in our fridge
Obviously the lid was not on tight!!!!

July 4th
CANADA DAY
Sarnia Marina
Photos taken from my brother's 10th floor apartment

The Duc heading out into the river

People starting to gather for the fireworks

Our motor had broken down so we had to rely on the ferry to get back to the island
so............we could not stay for the fireworks
We waited for the island ferry but it did not come ????????
It was a holiday so last ferry should be 9:40
NO FERRY
We had to borrow our neighbour's boat to get back to the cottage
thanks Ray
Later found out there are not many Canadians who use the ferry during the evening on a holiday
so the ferry driver kept to the regular schedule
That will change next year!

The Duc is now coming back up river
Passed by Pier 90 as we were getting into Ray's boat

Have to get to the island before that sun goes down

This place is going to be rocking for the next week!

This is something I have not seen before
A tug pulling a tug

Queen's Anne Lace
I can remember when our nephew was married
They had Queen Anne's lace shipped to Edmonton from California
To us it is a weed
To other people it is a flower

A heron on land

Sweet Tulip sitting in my Grandma Fisher's wicker chair

The boy is back in the neighbourhood

Joe and I had planned on seeing two of Beau's games in MI
As it turned out Joe could not go as Gwendolyn was having eye issues having meds every two hours for 48 hours
Curt and I stayed in Hastings for the night then took in the game at Western University in Kalamazoo MI

Miss Kelsey dancing on the dock

Beau and his sister Zoe and his girlfriend Kelsey

Gwendolyn had eye surgery last Friday

Zoe protecting Gwendolyn from the spray of the waves

While we were waiting for Gwennie we did a 'good' run to Costco in London
Came home loaded the shelves
CRASH CRASH CRASH
One shelf fell on another shelf and another
WHAT A MESS
Everything you see here was on one of the shelves
We were very lucky in that only one jar of spaghetti sauce broke
L-U-C-K-Y

Poor Gwendolyn
Two days down eight to go
No swimming in the river for this girl

Sweet girl Zoe reading her book

This is one crazy cat

Oh boy..........Tulip nearly went in the river!

Down the ladder for the first swim of the year
Then it is off the end of the dock!
COLD COLD WATER

Ray helping Ken with his dingy

Devonna opted for the boat rather than the dingy

The extra shed is finished

The BC grandchildren arrive tomorrow

AND..........
The canoe is ready

Good job Joe

However
We are going to have the picnic/party at the cottage

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Joe and David took a drive out to Rondeau Park

Peony bush finally bloomed

I planted these so I could cut 'some' to bring in the cottage
BUT
I don't want to cut any of them!!!

Tulip climbed the tree
Gwennie could not figure this one out????

Gwennie and Bing right there to check her out when she came scampering down the tree

Joe had to rescue this snake
Tulip has caught several snakes
She brings them home!

HA HA HA
Such a look!!!!!

I could hear this tug coming

The freighter overtaking  the tug and barge
Still lots of room in the river

First tall ship to pass by the cottage

These little guys are growing
Have stopped by the pond
but
Not a lot going on
The pond's water is receding
The swans and family are at the far end of the pond
Herons are far and few between

Bunkie is used for storage during the winter
Am going to paint the floor
