BACK ROAD TO OSOYOOS

A few days before we left Penctition we took a drive to Osoyoos

I wanted to go to the arena where Beau played hockey to see if I could purchase a Coyotes sweatshirt

It was a beautiful sunny morning so we decided to head out

We came across many bikers

They are everywhere

Thought his was strange??

A corvette sitting in a field

The water was as smooth as glass

I don't think these guys are going anywhere!

This guy was on the road

When we got to Oliver we decided to go off the beat and track

They say Oliver is the wine capital of Canada

We could not get over how many vineyards were in this area

Everywhere we looked the fields had rows upon rows of vines

We first came upon this old barn then I saw this......

Who would have walked through this door???

There was another little house on the property

We were on our way again

Could hear cows 'mooing'

Came around a corner

and

there they were

coming up the road to meet us!

They were waiting to see if the 'girl' got by the blue truck

before they came down to the main road

This little one got separated from the group and ended up in a fenced in area

It was calling for Mom!!!!!!!!

We arrived at the Sun Bowl Arena

The shop was not open so I was unable to get a sweatshirt

WEEK THREE IN PENTCITON

Today I downloaded photos from the past month

I am excited to say I have enough photos for at least four blogs

I think I may be back in business once again!!

Thursday April 12th we headed to Langley with Ethan to a hockey tournament
He along with his friend Sam were playing on a Kelowna spring team called Kelowna Heat
This was something new for Granny and Papa
staying in a hotel with a hockey team!
We wern't quite sure of the ropes
Texted our daughter Stephanie......you know

We survived
and
Had a great time
Our daughter Jennifer came down on Saturday and stayed the night with us
Meanwhile Lyndsay's Mom came down to Penticton to stay with Garen and the pets for the four days
Gail's daughter was away so she also had her daughter's two dogs as well as her dog Nanook
SO...........
She had one grandchild
Five dogs
Three cats
They all managed just fine!!!!!

Kelowna Heat did well

They ended up second in their division

Spotted this truck on our way to the rink

 I took Garen to swimming lessons

His Mom had told me he did  not like to get his face wet

Each session I could see where he was getting a little bit more comfortable

As I was watching him at

'my last session' 

Garen surprised me

Not just a little bit

but

a lot!!!!!!!!!!

I jumped right out of my chair

OMG....I said to the lady sitting beside me

I WAS REALLY EXCITED

Way to go Garen!!!!!!

I walked into the den with my camera

Garen and I went out on the back deck to check out the rainbow

The sky continually entertained us

We were treated to another rainbow

Each night after the boys were tucked in bed Hunter

would join us downstairs

Of course Gwendolyn was already there with Joe!

Casey Cats

August 9, 1947 - April 22, 2012

In January of 2010 Casey and Mugan came down to Arizona for a two week holiday

They rented our friend Ken's home at our RV park

I had not met Casey yet ........

Had only heard good things about him........

I was expecting them to arrive at the park sometime during the evening

Around 5 p.m. I was out on the front porch when a white car drove up

and parked next door

'This man' got out of the car

and gave himself a big stretch

"This man' had the biggest smile on his face

and

I thought to myself

Wow

 'This man' has the greatest smile!!!

As it turned out

IT WAS CASEY

WHAT A WONDERFUL FIRST IMPRESSION

We spent lots of time together

A new friendship began

Casey and Mugan met in August of 2009

They agreed to meet at Tim's for coffee on that special day

The rest is history!!!!!!!!!

A year later they sat at the same table 

This time Casey was on a mission......

He asked Mugan to marry him!!!

Joe and I were there to catch the moment even though Mugan did not know that

We sat nearby but were in disguise!!!!!!

It's official

Moving on to June 3, 2011

The wedding of Casey and Mugan

Mr. and Mrs.

Casey  and Mugan along with
Casey's sister and husband went on a cruise in January, 2012 and were stay in Florida for a month afterward

Casey was not feeling well

and after consulting with a Doctor he was advised to return home

For the next few months Casey fought hard but did not win

On Saturday April 21st we received a call in Penticton to say Casey was close to passing away

Joe made reservations for me to fly to Windsor

My flight was at 6:30 p.m. Sunday out of Kelowna

Just as we were leaving for the airport in Kelowna we received another call telling us Casey had died

Our son Graham and wife Lyndsay were flying into Kelowna on the 6 o'clock flight

I saw them through the 'glass' from the security room

They flew in........ I flew out

I arrived in Windsor Monday morning

There to greet me at the airport were

Janette Georgette Sue and Donna Mae

A very emotional and welcoming sight

Joe drove home leaving Penticton Tuesday morning arriving in Windsor Thursday evening

Gwendolyn sat in the front seat to keep him company

 are deeply saddened by his death

Casey will be missed
