A RACE AGAINST A DELIVERY

August 4, 2002
On the road again............
We were travelling from Ontario to British Columbia
The last telephone up-date we received from the
Father-to-be
said
Baby was on the way!!!!!!!
As luck would have it
we arrived at the hospital in Vancouver a few
hours before the birth

Right after the delivery the new Dad
came out to tell us the good news
WE HAVE A BABY
After the congratulation hugs
I had to ask......
Is baby a boy or girl????

A BOY

Ethan Joseph O'Rourke

Sweet wee baby boy

7 pounds 7 ounces
23 inches long
Now that's a long baby!!!!!!!

Perfect Soles

And baby makes three
Home in Pemberton

Granny's next trip west
The young boy was now seven months old
This is my all time favourite smile
It warms the heart!!!

The young boy's cousin
'the girl'
(ZOE)
is helping with dinner

This was my third visit with the young boy
Sitting on his cow
at Nana's home
in Summerland

Christmas at Granny and Papa's
Sarnia

Down to Lake Huron they went
Oh boy doesn't that look like fun
You can almost hear the squeals of delight!!!!

Having breakfast with Angus
We brought our 5th wheel to Kelowna
and parked it in their backyard lane
We were on our 'way' or 'way back' from Arizona via the west!!

Soon the family would be leaving for a two year 'stint' in New Zealand

WE HAVE ARRIVED IN NEW ZEALAND
FOR A VISIT
Nothing like an afternoon nap

I know there were howls of laughter as they dodged the waves

The family is back in Canada
In the background you can see a little rocking chair
It belonged to the young boy's Father  when he was a little boy

Papa Joe made the blocks
Many an hour has been spent playing with the blocks
LOVE THAT CANADIAN FLAG
ON THE WALL

A new bike goes along with learning the rules of the road

His Dad was playing rugby in Phoenix
so
the family came for a visit
Off to a park we went
Here he is with Goliath
(the boy and girl's dog)
The young boy was sooooooooo funny
He would say
'Granny'
look at me here
'Granny'
 look at me here
He was lovin' having his picture taken

Aunt Stephanie and the girl squeeze in to get in the picture

Had to try ot the saddles at Tortilla Flats

Having a game of pick up sticks with Papa at the house in Penticton

The young boy's little brother has arrived

The young boy's 'hockey' career has started

2011

There was an open house at his school
We all checked out his classroom
and
 school work!!!!!
GOOD JOB

Amazing what the boys put together with lego
Well done

Check out those long legs!!!!!
From what I understand the young boy
is nearly five feet tall
Pretty soon he is going to tower over his
Nana and Granny

WISHING A HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO A GREAT LAD
you are so loved

  5. Oh Dianne! I started reading this post without looking very carefully at the date. My first reaction was " Grandparents, again...and you didn't say a word." Then I realized he is already born. LOL Happy B-Day to Ethan. Thanks for sharing his story in pictures & words.
