DOWN TO BANFF WE GO

Before I start my blog today
I wanted our friends and family
to know that we lost
a very dear friend yesterday
Mike Finn died in the early morning
hours of September 30th, 2010
Mike made a few Western road trips
with our family
The last trip out it was just
the two guys
Mike & Joe
Mike was a great traveller
very enthusiastic
and
'game for anything'

A very, very sad day for all of us

The Whistler gardener wanted to touch base
with the Banff Springs Hotel gardener
so we hopped in her little red VW
and headed to Banff
and
of course
Alice, Angus and Gwennie came along
for the ride

Banff had their first snowfall of the season
There was ONE patch of snow left
Quess who found it????

She would get up to the top of the small
pile of snow
and slide down

Over and over again
down she would go!!!!!

Beautiful flowers in the gardens

Statue of our
Royal Canadian Mounted Police

These are one of my favourite flowers
They seemed to be everywhere
at the hotel

This is one big hotel with many
interesting aspects

What a funny car
Sure catches your eye!!!!

Can you imagine the hotel
WAY BACK WHEN

A cozy place for two to sit
and talk about the day

Here are a few pics of two horses
from the coral
I stood and watched them interact

Even though there were many horses
these two seemed to stick together
MUST BE BEST FRIENDS

The reins got caught up
however
they worked it out

How would you like to have
this  view out our back window??
The mountain consumed the sky

Here we are back at the
Chateau Lake Louise

It's Friday evening
The wedding guests are being
shuffled down the road to
Deer Lodge

It was quite chilly
Blankets were handed out to the ladies
who were dressed to the
'NINES'
and didn't seem to have a concern
about being
COLD

It even looks cold doesn't it!

I love this blog for many, many reasons. All my favourite subjects, Gwennie, horses, architecture, black eyed susans, western scenes
    and that moose is hilarious.
