A TRIP TO CONNECTICUT

We are visiting with Joe's sister and husband
for a few days.......

A tour of their gardens

The gardener has many benches
When she does her gardening each day
she has a little rest along the way

The gardener told me the story about the lantern
She and her husband spotted it on recent trip
as they drove through Georgia
Since it was the beginning of the trip they decided to leave it

meaning

 not to buy it

After two weeks they could not live without it

so

made a 300 mile detour to bring it home with them

Another bench sits in her Japanese garden

The gardener's prayer flag
She adds a colourful stip of material to represent
a petition
The material blows in the breeze until it disintegrates
in the tradition of Tibetan or Japanese perpetual prayers

This is Astilbe
This plant likes to be in the shade
Smart plant!!

The arbor supports a rose and a Jackman Clematis

Here is a lace capped Hydrangea

A little garden set brought back from
London, England

Known to be used by the
grandchildren for
picnics and lunches

Foxgloves
In 1984 the gardener brought back seeds from England

Gwendolyn making her way back to the house

Broad view of the lower terrace
steps leading to two upper terraces

Look at all different colours of green

The gardener has been building
the gardens for thirty years
